Western Reporting is a privately owned full-service background screening company offering a wide array of services catering specifically to the employment and property management industries. Starting in 1995, the company offered a standard Credit Report for small apartment owners. Today, the company provides over 150 services including Credit & Criminal Background Screening, Drug Testing, Social Security Number Verifications, Employment Verifications, Tenant Scorecards, Business Verifications and more.  Western Reporting has evolved through the years to become one of the largest and most respected background screening companies in the country.



Meet our Staff

Bryan D. Mower-President & CEO

Bryan Mower, President and Chief Executive Officer for Western Reporting, leads the company with vision based on strong industry expertise, with a passion for the future of tenant and pre-employment screening. Bryan’s previous experience in business development flourished when he purchased Western Reporting in 2003.  As the business developed, he expanded operations with the acquisition of Reliable Screening in 2006.  When not meeting personally with clients, Bryan spends quality time with his family, enjoying the company of grandchildren, his dog, Sadie, and occasionally hitting the green.









Chelsea Scott-VP of Operations

Chelsea Scott, VP of Operations, knows her way around every aspect of background screening. She carefully trains all our live-agent researchers and watches over customer service with professionalism and care. She has fine-tuned her management skills and is an important leader at Western Reporting. Chelsea received a BS in Public Administration with a minor in Criminal Justice from Texas State University in 2009, and uses that background to keep Western Reporting compliant with all state and federal mandates. When she gets that rare moment for herself, she enjoys fine dining, gardening and reading.








Brent Rasmussen- VP of Sales

Brent Rasmussen joins us with a strong background in business sales. He has an entrepreneurial spirit that lead him to run a few notable start-ups. His years in business development and sales is a great benefit to the clients of Western Reporting. Brent brings his vast knowledge of Rental Insurance, Corporate Bids & business development to the background screening industry.  When Brent isn’t traveling to trade shows, he can be found gathering ripe fruit in his orchard or spending quality time with his family.







Linda Barsch- Sales Compliance Officer

Linda Barsch joined us in 2015 as the Compliance Officer and Assistant Manager of Sales. Her talent at looking at everything as if through a microscope makes her perfect for dealing with the sticky world of Compliance Law. Linda became thoroughly acquainted with compliance regulations while running her entrepreneurial medical company, World Choice Healthcare, for several years. Prior to that, she fine-tuned her legal skills and business  knowledge while working at the law offices of Ivie & Young in Utah. She was educated at Brigham Young University and received her Bachelor’s of Science in 1999. When she’s not pouring over FCRA regulations or watching over the Sales Team, Linda can be found basking on a Caribbean beach under a swaying palm tree.





Cass Vance- Assistant Manager Customer Service

Cass Website 2Cass Vance, Assistant Manager of Customer Service,  has been with Western Reporting since 2008. As our lead, live-agent reviewer, Cass carefully and accurately reviews over 200 processed reports per day. She is an invaluable member of our team, contributing experience and composure to any situation. She is fluent in ASL (American Sign Language) and loves to bake cheesecake.  She volunteers throughout the state of Utah to teach others the importance of accurately interpreting their credit report.
